| Finally decided to find out then Julie. Hope it goes well and of course nothing found. Are you having it with a local Cardiologist, and with someone who has done bubble studies before for PFO. I guess if it's local, the one question I'd ask is what experiance they have of the tests and carrying them out, unless they have prior diving medical knowledge there's not much point in pushing on any dive related questions. If you need a chat again just give me a shout. |

| Hope it goes well

| Appointment update Morning! Been to see the cardiologist. Gotta have a bubble test. Vonny came in with me. He knew all about diving and what causes the bends. We weren't having to tell him about diving and ascent rates which was encouraging! He reckons that even on the NHS I should be having the test in the next month or so. Watch this space...... (oh and thanks for the support and advice - and particular thanks to Vonny for holding my hand. I'm soooooo glad she was there )

He gave me the name and I think Vonny will know what he called it but I've got to be sedated and then a tube stuck down my pipes etc and then bubbles washed through. He started off saying he'd just do the minor test where you have ultrasound and asked to take a deep breath in but then cos he knew I wanted to continue with diving he decided to do the full one, or summit like that! Nice, eh!?! Can't wait??? ..............NOT! It all goes a bit whoooosssssshhhhhh over my head!
