| I broke my ankle and the bottom of the tib & fib off back in 2004, repaired with titanium, took 8 weeks to heal whilst immobilised, another 8 weeks to get back to 75% use, then back diving and building up the strength, was as good as new after about 6 months

| I've got a pelvis full of steelwork when I lost a game of chicken between my VFR and the front of a Mazda. All fine and dandy now.

| I've got a knee held together with carbon fibre and screws and apart from ladders it hasn't been a problem diving. Safe diving, Steve

| Ive got lots of metal in my knee and foot after a Volvo wiped me out a couple of years ago. I'm a Divemaster and it was only because I seriously forced myself to get back up again and work my arse off to get right, have I been able to do it. My advice to you is keep on working with your physio and don't give up. And remember you dont have to use you legs when diving! |

| My left arm is pretty much made of metal after a nasty break when I was a kid. It has never been an issue for diving as far as I can tell. |

| I've had 2 cracked ribs and a fractured shoulder. I've had no long-term problems (apart from the fact that the last accident seems to have made me put on 2 stones - or was that the beer?

After that bike accident you could stand round me and hit me with baseball bats and it would hurt less. Tell me- are you currently inhaling through pursed lips with your arse cheeks clenched thinking "ooooooooooo that's gotta hurt"?

Almost exactly this happened to a mate at work (the tank didn't split) and he had plums as big as melons for ages...
