Just ordered my new sensor of amazon as my other one has been worn out. But don't think its getting here till monday so looks like i will be playing catch up, better get some training in! Have people got targets of how far they would like to run in feb? or are you all just going for it and see what happens?

This might be scary to those who know me, but i am waiting for my nike plus doofer to be delivered, new ipod and am bidding on a pair of new trainers on ebay (unless anyone knows somewhere i can get some suitable ones cheap ). I doubt my starting runs/staggers will even register as last time i did any kind of running i had to start pathetically small distances. However, within a few weeks i was running 3 miles a night Im sick of being a fat bloater the death clock on that thread the other day said i wouldnt even see my 60th birthday...

My target is lose another 9kg between now and the end of August. Whatever happens distance wise while I am running is a bonus but I am expecting to run around 15 miles per week (3 nights of 5) but I will see what happens.

Knowing how competitive Garf is, he will be running every night to get those miles in

Son, you're going to have to make up your mind about growing up and becoming aircrew. You can't do both.

The aircraft limits are only there in case there is another flight by that particular aircraft. If subsequent flights do not appear likely, there are no limits.

Yeah im hoping for pretty much the same about 15miles a week but we will have to see what happens. Im in the middle of the squash season so im playing that a couple of times a week which takes it out of me,
making excuses already not a good sign! lol

I'm expecting to do about 15 miles per week as well tbh. If we all survive this week, I'll put up a fitness challenge in March, something like the fastest 5 and 10 k

Anyone fancy a beer? Good telly on tonight. Gordon Ramsey cooking suet pudding in duck fat served in a spun sugar basket with honey glaze and shortbread on the side?

I'm going to come round your house and hide the remote control for the telly. It'll up your excercise levels by 300% you having to get up to switch over.

Helen, I know you are on a budget (and umm somewhat remote at the moment!) but running trainers are something that you really need to get right to give you the right amount of stability. I messed up my ankle to the extent that I couldn't run on it for 6 months after running in totally the wrong kind of shoes for me for a week on holiday

Ideally you need someone who knows what they are doing to watch your feet as you run but alternatively the runners world website has some good info Choosing a Shoe: The Very Basics - Runner's World Shoes hopefully you'll then be able to find the appropriate pair on e-bay (Wiggle is also good for all sorts of sporty stuff and does good discounts).

Oh, and welcome to the challenge!

As for all this weight-loss target malarky, since I discovered yesterday that I no longer fit into my interview suit I got on the scales, I am aiming to lose about 10lb and drop a clothes size (the clothes size being much more important!!).
