| Well done everyone. I've just started running at lunchtime at work - 2.5 miles (drove it first) and it's fairly flat. It's taking about 23 mins (well 22' 50'' fairly consistantly), is this okay - what should I be aiming at? I'm quite stocky, and about 95kg, but do like going to the gym and doing cardio stuff (but the running machines send me into a coma with boredom)! Cheers D

As you get fitter, the pace can either be upped, or the distance extended. My pace is just below the 8min/mile mark at the moment but that is gradually coming down I too get bored while running which is why I play loud music with a good beat. If I go to the gym, I put on some podcasts and just listen while burning the fat away on the cross trainer or bike. Keep in there, it does make a big difference to your overall energy!! Uurrggh, but you know what I mean!!
