| I used to take Stugeron and was still pukey with them. My friend who has puked on every boat trip for 8 years has tried: Ginger Wrist bands Stugeron and everything under the sun. FINALLY, we discovered the joy of Traveleze. It is fandabidozee. It works. Even HWMBO, who always gets car sick, felt fine after taking these. I highly recommend them. They even work after you have started to feel sick.

| I just use Boots own brand tavel sickness tabs, (cant remember the name) I take one the night before and then one on the morning before the dive. After being violently sick on a weekend St Abbs trip, and being given some Sat evening this worked wonders for me for diving on Sunday. |

| Try Scopoderm patch. You need to get a doctor's prescription for this. Basically a patch that you stick behind your ears. Apply it 6-8 hours before you board a boat. So for e.g. if you are going to Red Sea, put on one around check in time and you will be fine when you get there. The patch last for 72 hours, before you need to put a new one on. It stays on even when you are diving. However, if you happen to knock it off, don't use the same one again. Immedaitely put on a new one, cos once it comes off, its not effective. |

| 2 Stugeron in the morning is enough for me all day when day boat diving. On liveaboards I use wrist bands for the first couple of days or if it is very rough and perhaps the odd Stugeron (I always get landsick though after a weeks liveaboard in Egypt - the trick is to know how many beers it takes to cancel out the swaying of the ground). As well as treatments, look at other ways to avoid the queesyness: Stay on deck Look at the horizon Sit in the middle of the boat, near the water line (least movement) Avoid strong smells (cigarette smoke, engine fumes etc) Positive mental attitude (don't go onboard expecting to be ill) Set your kit up well in advance and take your time (better still do it on shore or even get your buddy to do it for you) Kit up last minute (masks and hoods make me claustrophobic, which really doesn't help) don't sit there fully kitted up for ages whilst the boat "bobs" around trying to place the shot Take your time to kit up, look at the horizon and breathe every time after bending down. Bending down looking for things on the floor or adjusting knife/fin straps is a recipie for disaster. If I feel really bad I find sitting down with my eyes closed helps Get a buddy who doesn't get seasick - they can then wait on you hand a foot (but offer no sympathy as they just can't comprehend how ill you feel) Get a buddy who also suffers from seasickness - no help at all, but at least you can be ill together |
