| Candida - Have you/do you have it? Candida is too much yeast in the gut. There is a saliva test you can do first thing in the morning in a glass of water. I have had a lot of unexplained symptoms and a friend mentioned maybe I have candida. I did the saliva test and that proved positive. One problem I have never been able to solve is why I always suffer terribly with equalising my ears to the point where I always take Sudafed or the Egyptian equivalent which I know is not good. Sinus problems can be related to candida. You get it from too much sugar I believe or too much stress. I know I had a major stressfull year a few years back which resulted in drinking a lot of alcohol to deal with it. Maybe the combination together. I have been on a candida diet for two weeks now where you have to starve the yeast by not eating any sugars, alcohol, fungi or moulds so hardly any fruit, juice, bread, cakes, mushrooms, vinegar, etc. etc. but plenty of protein and vegetables and salad and especially...........raw garlic! I have been trying for two years to figure out why I get some small red blemishes in the same place on my face and playing with eliminating certain foods from my diet without success. This candida diet has made a difference for the first time. I'm struggling without the alcohol though especially living in a holiday environment like I do. I wonder if maybe Bombay Sapphire gin might be acceptable?!? I know that beer, wine and whisky are especially bad. Anyhow, it would be interesting to see what happens if anyone has done the saliva test. I believe it should float if you are healthy but if it resembles a jelly fish by going all stringy and eventually sinking then it is a sure sign of candida! Here is one of many websites about Candida and they all give the same saliva test: Candida Yeast Infection Self Exams

| I searched the forums for Candida before I posted and wondered why Capenwray kept coming up! By the way, I forgot to mention we are having a horrendous sandstorm here at the moment to make you feel better about the crap UK weather at Easter.

| I used to be a party organiser for a well known brand of... er... exotic undewear. One of my best selling lines was a three peice set called Candida. Most comfy 'exotic' undies I have ever worn.
