| Everywhere I have been in the Carribean asks you to fill in the PADI disclaimer form which asks a lot of health questions - including one on diabetes I think. I suspect answering yes to any of the questions will rule you out of diving. It's an insurance and more than me jobs worth guv sort of thing. I'd phone ahead and ask the operator in Barbados. I have used DivePro Barbados - Homepage in the past and thought that they were good.

| Taken from the BSAC website: DIABETES & DIVING Diabetes does not necessarily prevent a member from taking up diving, or for existing members continuing to dive if they contract the condition. The UKSDMC have devised a specific process for diabetics to follow to determine their suitability for diving. There is a designated Medical Referee that deals with these enquiries and the 'Diabetes Pack' can be downloaded here: http://www.bsac.org/uploads/document...abeticpack.zip |

| Hi i'm a PADI diabetic. Get a medical before you go out and you should be ok. I do one once a year and not had any problems with courses or resorts. when you tick the box you can say "i'm diabetic but i've got this form from the doctor" Its the "i'll be ok so i won't tick the box" thats dangerous. |
