Well I finally feel like I've shaken the flu/cold/manflu enough to get started, so next week I hope to be starting the catch up

...although from the posts here I suspect I'll need some of you to stop for the rest of the year to let me catch up

I will be travelling most of the next 2 weeks so my progress will slow down, I have to run as much as I can, when I can.

Anyway found out I am in for NYC marathon in Nov

How about fastest driving to the gym?

I'd like to see one for most runs, forget about distance, maximum one run per day. That way you can win by running every single day in the month, even if it's only 1K a day. That gives us fatties half a chance at least No idea if this is possible.

Personally, I reckon if I can post a 10K time, I'm going to come at least top 5, because the rest won't make the distance. 10K is a marathon to me, not a sprint. Right now the time is insignificant, because just running that far is an achievement!

    Digs.

you can do one for a certain amount of time like "most kms".... and then you choose the days. I started one , and annoyingly I am nearly last despite the fact that I said it was for newbies who are starting out and need a bit of support it was even called "fat birds can run.... in a fashion so not even a sporty alluring title..... the person winning has a history logging 232kms... so obviously a beginner

the first challenge has to be against yourself

    New furthest run
    Fastest 1mile, etc

How about biggest percentage improvement over set distance using times already set?

Or biggest percentage increase in distance month on month with a minimum distance each month to qualify
