    I've witnessed a skin bend this week in the Galapagos on a friend (who is a medical Dr) who didn't know what it was. Sadly it totally screwed her diving for the week.

    Her symptoms were: rash, some pain and itching. They all came on very quickly and poor Naomi is stuck in the Galalpagos waiting for 72 hours so she can continue onwards (she and a friend are on a world tour).

    It's no joke and more serious effecs may develop, so please take it seriously.

    It's not a skin bend...

    1. I er... caught my shoulder getting kitted up..

    4. I er... am NOT denying it... or maybe I am...

    I suffered a Skin Bend in Ibiza in 1984. Lying on a sunbed in 80 degree temp. with towels on me to stop me scatching the skin off... and no more diving that trip...

    I seen two reactions to washing powder..
    one was mistaken for a skin bend...

    and another when I was working in "Special Clinic" and the poor chap thought he had something far worse!

    LDC took a picture of my skin bend on my face. It was a lot darker than the one on the picture shown, I must admit. But they take pics of all skin bends for their records, which I thought was a good idea. They did ask my permission at the time. I'll see if they've still got it and post it cos they said it was pretty vivid. I, personally, can't really remember cos I couldn't even stand up on my own at that point!!!!!!
