I take stugeron, never had a problem with being drowsy.
Thanks, will try stugeron on my next sea dive.
I know many people who have tried stugeron and all have struggled. However, now use Boots travel calm which has been brilliant.
Going back to the sudafed suggestion, I was told you couldn't use it if diving with Nitrox.
I used to use Stugeron, but it's slow to start working & if I take two it makes me sleepy.
Some time ago on a liveaboard I was given Dramamine and I've never looked back. Unfortunately it's not available in the UK, so I buy it when I'm in the States or get someone else to get it for me.
It really works well for me and it starts acting in about 20 mins or so, so when I forget its not too late as I step aboard the boat. Still makes me a bit drowsy but it lasts all day & I've never had any diving related problem with it.
Hamish.
From the way I have read this thread, the OP is not suffering from seasickness. The problem is on ascents.... Why are people advising motion sickness tablets ??
A bad day diving is better than a good day at work..
The issue is at the shallow stop (6m), at sea only (I was talking with Jack about this on Sunday).Originally Posted by adamr
Ascents are fine.
Stops in still (quarry) water are fine.
Stops in the sea where there is some swell is where it starts, hence the possiblity of motion causing the problem.

Do not despise the snake for having no horns, for who is to say it will not become a dragon! So may one just man become an army.
