    Ok to dive with burns?

Is it ok to dry suit dive with burns on your arm?

Burn is deep, is 3 inches long and 1 inch wide, fairly serious swelling and tissue damage but normal movement is not restricted in anyway and i feel fine, no pain any more!! But by hek did it hurt at the time.

Obviously do not get into a suit squeeze situation, Any other diving specific advice.

Well i'm not a doc, but there are plenty of nasties in fresh and salt water
waiting to infect such a wound. If you could guarantee a dive where the
suit wouldnt get wet on the arm, then you might get away with it, but
that's one hell of a gamble IMO.

I'd lay off the dives and let it heal a bit.

Agreed. Doesn't take much to get an infection. Best to wait a while.

    Bummer........Well its got 3 days?

Suit has never flooded......Yet, and was planning on bandaging it up well with some ant bac stuff on it.

By theway is it better to keep a burn covered or let it breath and dry up?

I would talk to a doctor, instead of getting advice on the internet.

Have you been to A&E to get it looked at? Sounds like a pretty serious burn, and if not treated right could cause a lot of scarring that may not be necessary.

You'll also find that burns are scar tissue, which attracts bubbles of nitrogen to them more than nice healthy tissue.

Not worth pushing it for a couple of days diving when it could cost you a lot more in the long run.

Get to a doctor, the advice you need is not on the internet. You need someone to look at it, and tell you how to make sure it doesn't spoil life longer term.

    Digs.

Depends how big / deep the burn is. Get advice from your GP

But I would keep away from any contact with water (we all know who pees in there, don't we?)

Given your description, a couple of weeks should see it healed enough for dry suit diving.

Is the burn on your brain? If you don't know what you're doing, which you don't, go to your local surgery and see the nurse.
