| I would suggest the trap is to trap moisture from the CO2 absorption reaction. I did some work once on gas absorption and the amount of moisture given off is surprising Nick

| hello diggs didnt take you long to start playing with it!! the gunk should get cought in the exhal lung so that side is safe but if you think of your possion in the water the possion of the scrubber the trap would not catch much sloshing around in the scrubber unless you roll over to the left which then would trap exsese water! but it is anouther place for moister and sorb dust to colect before it gets into to the inhale lung and then to you i'll get them fitting machined as soon as for you! john routley

| Is it a Ray or a Dolphin bucket? On the Ray running it the other way round I don't think would be a good idea as you have your exhale straight into the scrubber material, any water goes right into the lime. Running it the other way means any water pools in the bottom of the bucket. If it's a Dolphin then I don't know if it makes any difference, isn't it just a straight through axial scrubber, in one end, out the other? I've never looked that close inside one though so this might be utter pish. If you exhale into a bag then into the tub then it should trap any water or lung gravy.

| hello stuart, its an old atlantis box he's go off us, digger you could turn it around but i would'nt becase after a dive or two that trap dose catch some water/coctail if you turn it that licquid will stay in to bed or condence in you inhale lung, your already stopping water getting in by useing an exhale lung rather than just one lung! john routley Quote:

| Hmm, I'm just wondering what is more of a risk - moisture coming off the sorb and water coming in from the lung (which is still possible, but a lot less likely) or protection from the sorb getting wet which could cocktail me, but also all the CO2 problems that would come with it. Basically, I want to know if using it backwards is going to create problems with the sorb usage and all the rest. I can't see it being a major problem, but if Drager have designed it to be used in a particular direction for a reason I'd like to know. Because their design makes sense the other way round to me. It would be almost impossible for liquid to get iunto the sorb with it the other way round, even with a single lung. You'd have a fine water trap in there, but with the 2 lungs I have planned the chances are minimal, but I'd like to minimise even that. John, the unit when complete will be about the size of a set of twin 7s. Nice. The scrubber sits at the top nicely over the 2l tank. By the way, I need another ally 2 to complete the design (as well as various other bits, but ho hum) anyone know a good source, or have one knocking around? I'll stick an ad in the personals anyway, but just if you're reading this and you can help, PM me. Digs. |
