Can't really comment a great deal, I've used the moutpiece from one, and it works. If you don't want it, let me know. I'm always hunting for new bits. Try www.therebreathersite.nl and similar places and you'll find a stripdown somewhere of the unit. If you've got a functioning unit of almost any type commercially available, you can convert it to a useful CCR, just depends on how much the donor unit costs and whether it's worth it. Right now, I'm kind of wishing I'd have just spent the money on a new KISS... Digs.

All i would say is that we are replacing the Drager Lar V in the military, you can read what you like into that! Mary S

I'd be pretty crap at my job if I didnt know this stuff Daz! The US are still using the Mk 25 which is the Dragar LAR V. They also use two variants of the Carleton Mk 16 for mine countermeasures and naval special warfare. check out www.nswc.navy.mil We are replacing the LAR V with the Divex Shadow, known as SOBA to us - Swimmers Oxygen Breathing Apparatus. LAR V has been in service for donkeys years, probably since WW2 for all I know (I've only been in the job 2.5 years), and we'll probably start disposing of LAR V this year as the new SOBA sets come off the production line - but dont bother asking for bits! They will be going to dive set heaven - well may be a big crusher somewhere. The UK is also in the process of trying to replace our 80m mine clearance set, which is kind of a Mk 16.5 from Carleton, ie the US set, but bits bolted on to take account of our more stringent Health & Safety rules. I cant say any more at present, as its a competition, but its going to be an interesting (and busy) year. Mary S
