| Use of 1-2.5mm scrubber in Dolphin. I used the smaller Molecular Products 1-2.5mm in the Dolph at the weekend, at depths down to 19.5m. I could find no change in the WOB over either the 2.5-5mm grade or the Drager stuff...but at £59 per tub it's a lot easier on the wallet. I completed 3 dives, 62 min, 60 min and 37 min and the scrubber hadn't broken through, although the water temperature was 17C, and I'll have to repeat the experiment in the winter for a proper trial. My vO2's were marginally higher than on 2.5-5 or the Drager stuff, so that may indicate an increase in WOB that I didn't notice. |

| I used to use 797 Hi David, I used to use moly prods 797 grade 1-2.5mm and whilst it had no probs mopping up co2 it did tend to clog the mesh up a bit and the smaller bits came through to the traps, never had any get to the lungs though Like Andrew I also use spherasorb now and find it much better with less dust and no bits escaping although I have had a channeling issue but that's down to transporting with the scrubber in and unit upright. Regards Karl

| Spherasorb for Dolphin I used the Spherasorb 3-4mm granules this weekend with my Dolphin from Intersurgical and they were perfect.I could notice no difference from Dragersorb and if anything there was less dust.I completed two dives of 42 and 48 minutes at Capernwray down to 19m on NX50 mix and jet.The stuff costs about 17 quid for a 5l canister[enough for 2 fills] from John Camm at Alpha Distribution email john@seac.co.uk or phone 01709 515 157.P and P for 4 canisters is 10 quid. I met John at Puffin last weekend where they were giving out trydives for the new improved Scumatix rebreather which can be SCR or CCR with the addition of a 300 quid part.I'd say that Drager have got their work cut out to compete with this unit, the only other CE approved SCR rebreather. |
