Taking My Drager to Egypt...

Getting ready to go to Egypt on Friday, i thought I should see whether I could fit it all in my suitcase, I wanted to use a Gear Gulper, but it weighs a lot more than a Selsey hardshell suitcase.

Well it all fits, Drager with backplate adaptor, loop with 90degree tecme angles, a 55lb Agir wing, spool, smb, 3mm full length wetsuit, mask boots and ancient yellow mares fins.

Best of all I weighed it, 23.5 kilos, and I have some space left, so i CAN take some clothes with me (we have 30k allowance with XL)

The reg assembly, vr3 and bailout reg go in carry on (and come in at EXACTLY 5k)

I was slightly relieved that I dont have to wear the same clothes ALL week...

Funnily enough I've just worked out how much weight we have available for our 10 days in Jordan next month.

After our dive kit the upshot is we have only 5 kg for clothes and Mrs Broady is not very happy !!!!
I expect some of my weight will be sacrificed for the greater good !!

Carry on?

Will they let regs in the cabin? Or a dive computer?

I have an idea, why not have a weight allowance that is combined person and luggage? Why should Mr Lardy who weighs twice as much as me have the same luggage allowance?

Shouldn't I... erm... I mean he... get twice as much as his clothes are twice as big / twice as heavy?

Well phone the airline and get a price for excess baggage.

I'm flying to the Red Sea Tomorrow and it's £49 for 10 Kilos. Don't mess your holiday up for a few quid more.

I managed to get it all in and under weight, so I should be OK.

I will be checking about hand luggage, but as far as I can make out regs and computers are now OK in the cabin (as long as you keep it in the recommended size).
