i wasnt to kean on the idea i did say i would be sore cover and bring a response bag and some oxy.

I am going to Gran Canaria in about a week, and decided to strip my old Mares Console down to turn it into an SPG and reduce weight. I managed to get it apart after soaking it in hot water for a bit, ditched the double boot and depth gauge, and thought I'd check it before putting an SPG boot on - at which point I found the swivel mount was now leaking.

After some playing it seems to have stopped but I don't intend chancing it! So does anyone know if I can replace the swivel, or if I need to replace the entire hose?

At the moment, his job is a 40 hour week, lump sum, all inclusive package, where he gets 25 days leave per year.

However, there are various jobs out there with various benefits, and its difficult evaluating them against each other.

For instance, one of the jobs available is:

20% less salary
35 hours CAPPED working time per week, so you cannot work more then 35 hours, but CAN apply to do overtime at 120% of base.
Private health
Paid for, in house kindergarten for kids from 6 months up (big selling point for him, as he plans kids in the next year or two)
The salary is a 13 month salary, which means your salary is divided into 13, and you get the 13th month at christmas.
30 days leave, + 2 flexi days per month
Performance bonus of upto 10% of salary
1/2 price company shares, and share bonus (company is a major international)
They operate a non contributory company private pension for you as well, of 5% of your salary..

So how to compare?? his existing job pays more money, and puts him into the "comfortable" bracket. However, this other one puts him into the "money is something to be monitored" bracket, but the benefits are pretty top draw, and he"d have the opportunity for bonuses...

I have the following cell for use with the analyser which I have which I plug into my VR dive computer which has finally died:

From my understanding I believe that telydyne stopped making cells for whatever reason. Could some please tell me what type I need, and were to get them from?

Also I assume that these cells are probably also used in some rebreathers (I presume sentinel?) do any sentinel divers have any old cells which are still working but past there use by dates which I could buy from you since they are just for an analyser? I guess you guys would have no use for them?

Our group of four divers are now back in the U.K. after three weeks in the Philippines.
Our first week was spent on a livaboard out to the Tubbataha Reef atolls in the Sulu Sea. We love our big pelagics but this was not to be this trip and most of the week was spent diving the sheer walls of the two atolls with just a sprinkling of shark action to keep us going. Things livened up on the fith day when, at 6.30am the boat struck and grounded on the reef close to the ranger station. Cue an emergency evacuation of the leaning boat and a much longer visit to the ranger station than anticipated as we waited for high tide to float the boat off. In hindsight it was a good job the livaboard was steel and not wood as I reckon if it had been the later she would have sunk!
On to the island of Negros and to a dive resort outside the city of Dumaguete were we spent eight days muck diving and several dives off Apo Island.
Now I am as stated a "big fish" fellow and did not think a full week of muck diving would be my "cup of tea", however the sheer range and number of rare and odd creatures on every dive so impressed all of us we will be back for another trip later this year.
I apologise in advance for the schoolboy errors in the imbedded video. My only excuse is all the kit was brand new and this was its shakedown trip.
Record light not turned off giving reflection in the port.
External wet red filter (now "binned") that gave vignetting and colour inconsistency problems.

this is the panorama nova; I can't remember the proper name! but its the rebreather version so it has the mouth piece inside.

as I said, its been used 2 times, like new and no staining on the lens.

For our summer holiday this year, myself and a diving buddy, along with our families, are chartering a catamaran and are sailing from Athens around the Cyclades for a couple of weeks. We are hoping to carry out some diving while away (there will be two sports divers, two dive leaders and an open water instructor on the boat) and were looking at the practicalities of having some gear on board and doing our own thing, has anyone done this before and what were the practicalities involved?
We have also looked at hiring some tanks from Athens but the cost would be 600 euros per tank for the two weeks!!, so we are considering taking our own tanks and kit (we are flying BA and the luggage allowance is quite good). I have taken pony cylinders on flights before but never a 10-12ltr tank, would this be an issue with the airline?? Also, I know the Greeks are a little touchy when it comes to diving in their waters, how will they feel if we turn up and drop over the side?

I know the easiest thing to do would be to book a some dives at a couple of dive centres along our route but the idea of having kit on board and doing our own thing really appeals!, any advice would be welcomed.
