How about a Team to 'clean' up??

Or a few official board dumps underwater, which can then be lifted from one area?

The shallow ones can be lifted by the divers, or as Mark says, have a dumping ground near the pontoon from where they can be lifted. The deeper ones, we are only talking about a dozen at most (4-8 from 75m and 4-6 from 40-50m) therefore I don't see a problem with that but thanks for bring it up (pun intended!!)

In the deep section - I reckon we could strap the speared freedivers to the boards like makeshift stretchers and bag them up?

for the deeper ones why not attach a boltsnap to the board and clip them all to a large bag/lift bag and send them up? So two bags required - one for 75 and one for 50..

Or have I not thought that through properly?

    Nope that is the idea.

It is the shallower ones which can be brought up 'manually'.

Just a thought, but as the world record is for number of divers, it doesn't matter how deep they are (depth records is much deeper than the NDAC btw). Much as I would want to do it at the bottom, it's not adding to the validity of the attempt, and if the logistics are too dangerous or complicated, then why not just keep everyone shallower.

In just the same way as the girls (who want to) doing it dressed as biggles on top of the aircraft, the chimps (amongst others) going to 70m makes it a more newsworthy attempt. It simply adds to the excitment!

Besides, if we get rid of some of them to the deep end, it leaves more room for others.

The logistics of how the deeper divers get their boards to and from the deep end is not really a huge problem for the vast majority.

We are? Oh dear. We used to have a Biggles teddy bear somewhere. I'll see if he can come ironing with us.

As a complete aside, I just had a lovely email from a chap on freecycle offering me an iron. "it may not have the power cord", say he, "I hope that won't be a problem".

I think he missed the bit of my request which said we're doing this underwater...

    Amy.
