I think he missed the bit of my request which said we're doing this underwater...

We may not... it was just an idea someone suggested If people are up for it, great, otherwise we'll just have to be grown ups. (Booo!!)

    On another note...

I will be at Wraysbury on Wednesday afternoon, complete with Ironing Board and Item so that I can have a bit of a practice, with Uwila testing out some underwater labelling and photography.

Anyone who is available from about 1pm would be welcome to join us - I'm sure Richard won't mind us comandeering one of the platforms for an hour or two!

Ok.. as one of the tog's i was wondering about the vis issue too, but hey if this was going to be easy everyone would be doing it wouldn't they

One thought though... who will the photographers be buddying up with? or can we simply designate a buddy 3 group within the 16 divers allocated to a photographer...

    .. just a thought..

.. by the way i'm really looking forward to this.. going to be epic!

I am working on the fact there will be plenty of people to get gas from if it goes Pete Tong...

So yes, within the group you are allocated to, choose a buddy within that group.

One thing to bear in mind when you do this trial is that most people won't have the strobes that Chris has when taking pictures in the shallows (which will be shallower than NDAC) so you need to work that into the equation. Knowing what a geek Chris is, I am sure he will have thought of that though

I'll take mine, and leave the strobe off. Two cameras to deal with - that should task load him enough

My sugestion (if its allowed) would be a teem of experianced divers putting in ALL the Ironing boards in the morning.

    Do we have any

Our GUE freinds would be ideal for this as they have the bragging rights to the best 6m trim. Obviously any one who feels confident with boyancy and task loading will be welcome to assit

A good point mark and one i think should be taken up

But what size bolt snap i seam to remember a thread on another forum where nobody could agree

    DVD idea:

If someone can edit the various videos together (my PC is well under spec), and burn to a DVD, including the photos (either interlaced into the videos or as a sperate slide show (should be able to get duplication and printing for about 30p per disk (+5p for colour carded wallet)).

If possible coould we also include a photo of each competitor with a brief bio, that could either be made into a DVD booklet or as a DVD extra

    There are vaious packaging options:
plastic wallet - DVD design thats it
Paper wallet - DVD design thats it
Carded wallet - both designed bit of protection for the DVD while in transit (like the DVD's the papers give away)
DVD case - bit more rugged - more proffessional looking and can be picked up for pence - prinitng the cover and packaging would either add to the time or cost more. - Allows a booklet to be added.

I think if the video, photo's and editing is done within YD, the DVD can be sold for around £5 (possibly less) with a healthy lump going to RNLI

It is already being sorted out, Mark. We have had an offer form a YD'er to sponsor the costs of setting up and sorting this out. No doubt he will be in touch with the photographers etc in due course.

I know it's not that far but i'm probably going to be travelling up on the Friday evening and staying overnight... somewhere...

Any recommendations for B&B's/Inns to stay at in or near Chepstow?
