Christ???? I paid £125 for my last Apex ATX40 and DS4's about a year ago????
Thank god for DS4s.
I am staggerd how expensive dive kit has become in recent years. It cant be good for the future of diving to make it such a rich mans sport (worse than it already is I mean) I am sure Tec3's are wonderfull but a DS4 works great so why spend all that money?

I am glad that the OP is pleased enough with the service of a dive shop to post about it, thanks for the recommendation. To me Tec 3s are worth the extra cash, if only for the hose routing.

My local LDS too. Trained with them (OW, AOW, Deep, Nitrox), and bought a whole pile of gear from them over the years, and get my fills there. They've also trained and kitted out my sons.
Good, friendly and knowledgeable bunch... and worth having a beer with, apres-dive.
It's not a case of "needing them" but more of somepeople just "want them".
Good job we are all different huh.
They are good! worth the extra.........not sure
