| re o3, neoprene suits and getting wet I've had an 03 for 2 or 3 years and not had a wet dive yet. My other half had an ND suit and was getting soaked in it - ND weren't interested in helping, so in the end we decided to get it done properly and went to O3. We fully expected to need a MTM suit but O3 steered us to an off the peg suit, but made a few changes including different neck and wrist seals. They measured her for them and specifically said that if there was any problem they'd re-do the seals until any leaks were stopped - in the end they did a perfect job so didn't have to test that side of the service out, but I know other people who've had leaks and O3 have sorted them. (1) staying warm (with a thick neoprene) and (2) some protection against the suit being damaged on a wreck etc is more of advantage than having the inherent bouyancy issues of neoprene look at nigel's document, it covers most of the pro's and cons - then decide which factors are most important for you when you're spending top dollar - most suits are similar - you'll find that there's very happy divers using all of the different brands (and irrespective of neoprene/mebrane etc) - getting the right fit is the most imporant thing vid (who dives neoprene and membrane suits)

| I know one guy who has yet to have a dry dive in his O3. His own fault for being skinny I tell him! Aquion Pro is a good suit and not bad price wise either. You might like the Gates/Hunter Pro VSN 1100. A good tough suit, an example of which I have for sale! Personally I would wait for LIDS at the start of April, I think, then you can at least get your mitts on a wide range of suits so you can make a more informed decision. Might even get a discount too! | Andy, If you are interested in a dui, have you thought about a protech. They do a dui copy for about £600 - half the price - and they come highly recommended. See here Narked@50 has just bought one recently and he had it at the Cape a few weeks back. It looked impressive and he seemed really pleased with it. |
