BCD Inflator Hose?

Hello Everyone,

I've just purchased my first reg set in preparation for a Liveaboard holiday in Egypt in a 10 days

I'm going to have to rent a BCD when I get there (haven't got the cash to buy one at the moment) and was wondering if I will need to buy the inflator hose (the hose which connects the BCD to the 1st stage LP port), or if it will come with the BCD that I rent????

Sorry if this is a stupid question but I've always rented all my gear before

Thanks for taking the time to read this

Macca

Normally it would come attached to the 1st stage, not the BCD.

Do you have your own regs?

EDIT: doh! Just re-read your post.

I suspect that the whoever rents you the BCD will have a compatible hose - they are mostly (but not all) standard. You probably ought to contact them just to make sure.

They're unlikely to be included on a BC but the shop may have a spare one. Best bet if you can afford it is to jus pick one up for 15-20 quid.

Since you will be renting the BCD, I believe that you will need your own inflator hose. If they are extremely nice and have spare inlfator hoses they might fit one on your first stage, but I wouldn't risk it. I would ask them if I need to take one with me or if they can arrange to rent one together with the BCD.

Please note that when you purchase a BCD you must be given the inflator hose too as it is included in the purchase price.

Take care and have fun during your liveaboard. Which itinerary are you doing?

I bought my kit the same way as you, regs then BC a few months later, I bought a hose, made life so much easier.
