Advice on DIN conversion

I have recently bought some second hand scubapro MK16/R390 regs and am looking at converting to a DIN fitting. I notice you can buy the adapter for around 40 quid and was wondering whether this is something you can fit yourself fairly easily or will I need to have it fitted when I have them serviced?

Cheers

Fiona

Hi Fiona,

TBH I'm not sure on the DIY aspect of the question but I had my MK17 / R295 regs converted to DIN and my local dive store did it for about £45.

cool cheers. Does that include the valve or is that just fitting cost?

Its not a hard job, but I would get it done the same time as the next service as some of the bits you replace are service items.

I converted my Apeks DST and Scubapro Mk2 myself.

The apeks was dead easy to do. Scubapro needs a special tool which is hard to find and the "proper" tool only dive shops seem to have.

My local(ish) shop will do them for free in about 60 seconds so maybe worth asking in one at next fill.
