Well, it seems that plenty of others have done it, and as soon as I get back to my little workshop (ie my lounge at uni) I'll be trying it out for myself. I'll report back on how easy it is for an electronics gimp with a few mates to help gets on!

Just to add my penny to the mix....

Also as a recently qualified diver I've been buying up odds and ends. The only things I bought new were, mask, snorkel, 3mm suit, 1.5mm & 3mm gloves, boots and fins.

Got my BCD (seac pro2000) and a suunto solution computer 2nd hand from my local dive shop

The rest of my kit:
ND vortex drysuit
hood
undersuit
regs (apexs tx50 with mares nikos octo and suunto combo)
2 x 12l tanks
smb & reel
Nd weight harness & 16Kg lead
2X 1kg ankle weights
another pair of gloves
spare mask
2 torches
bodyglove dive holdall
sunnto stinger with download cable
various odds and ends

I bought used as a 'job lot' for under £700 from a chap who had givven up due to a shoulder injury. Finally got it all wet yesterday......
