| Frogman Lenser torches are crap. Tektite is much better for the same price. The silver bit round the end comes loose and you can't switch it on or off. Anyway. I agree with plenty that Howard dribbled on about. What you tend to see divers go through is the following: 1. get all excited and buy anything that anyone waves under their noses 2. realise that half of it is shit and sell it to gullibles in the club/on the internet 3. put up with their more expensive mistakes until they can afford something decent 4. re-buy everything again the way it should be. Probably all in black So. It really depends on the sort of diving you do. In our club, we have a big range of kit for people to use and try out and after doing so, almost everyone buys the following kit for UK drysuit single cylinder RIB diving- when you're out on a trip we all look the bloody same. It's like the Hitler Youth... Suit: Otter skin with HD cone latex wrist seals and neoprene neck seal BC: Buddy Commando Regs: Apeks ?TX40/50 with SPG Computer: Suunto Gekko Mask: Beaver Atomic Torch: Tektite Expedition star Gloves: Decathlon specials Fins: Mares Quattros or cheap rubber jetfins for the light-footed brigade Reel: Mc Mahon Fisher Price or more commonly now the NAS tech reel Blob: Buddy blob (auto if you are feeling flush) Knife- shitty Beaver Eclipse You can't really go wrong with that lot for UK diving. It's all well tried and well tested and will take you right up to the beginning of tech diving where you will probably want to sit down and wonder why you need a massive twinset anyway.

The tektite ones are cool n'all, as are the little Q40 LED jobs. Ikelights are shocking bits of crap that you see all the time for some unknown reason?
