hi everyone
just starting my open water this weekend and starting to look at some equipment and prices looking at investing in some fins the problem is i have had two operations on my knee so its not as good as it could be so i have been advised to go down the split fin road.(been looking at the tusa expert)
any comments or suggestions please.

Split fins are cerainly a lot easier to kick with, if you're looking at the Tusa then go for the Lomo's they are exactly the same and about half the price.

Edit:
I have the Lomo split fins been using them for the last two years, replaced the standard strap with springs and am extremely pleased with them, they are also slightly positively buoyant so again may be easier on your knees.

I can highly recommend the Oceanic V12 split fins I have had 6 Knee Ops and spinal surgery and find that split fins are excellent

Split fins not good if you wish to frog kick but excellent for normal finning. Dodgy knees, then Force Fins will help. I suggest you speak to Steve S and others who wear them and you can do a variety of finning strokes with them and will save you kicking up the silt and upsetting the divers behind you.
