Like a lot of people I am a harness/BP/wing convert, but the OP was asking about ladies BCs and a particular model, so that's what I commented on.

You may loathe the ladies BCs Fiona, but many people on here are happy with theirs, as was I with mine (before I tried a harness/BP/wing ).

I used a Cressi SR1111 BCD which was fine in a dry suit useless in my semi as I could almost slip out of it. Quickly went over to Transpac harness and Dive Rite wing and love dit. Now I am on BP wing and my own version of a Transplate harness.

Which rather proves my point, once you try a harness you will find it far more comfortable.

Last week I sat for hours while doing surface cover at Capernwray and I watched dozens of people enter the water in what looked to me like ill fitting BC's.

I have a Mares Lady Dragonfly and find it incredibly comfortable. I don't use it much in teh UK now, as I am another one on a wing & harness, but I still take it on holiday because it it so comfy. It doesn't restrict as much as some of the other BC's - most of the air is in the wing bits at the back, with only a small amount in the sides and front

Training perhaps?
many people have to train in what is available from the school and it is only when they go to buy their own kit they can sort out a proper fit. No point spending hundreds of pounds on kit before you know whether diving is for you.

You are right Helen, I shouldn't comment without knowing the facts (must be my age)

The only reason I see for a female diver to use a BC tailored for ladies is if they are doing warm water diving in only a swimsuit - other than that I see absolutely no reason and even then I don't think they are necessary - I don't know what prompted the ladies who wear one on here who dive in the UK to buy one.

However lynnr54 has just posted that she has just purchased a new dry suit and I have yet to see any lady with any "female shape" in a dry suit.

So the first question to lynnr54 should be, are you only looking for opinions on female BC's because someone has suggested you should buy one or because they are "designed" for ladies.

.

I use mine because it fits well and suits my needs as a non-technical, single tank diver. It is comfortable and it works. And I haven't the money or inclination to get a wing. I know those with wings love them. I love my Diva. Sad but true.

Most ladies drysuits, if they are fitted correctly, should be shaped for the bust. If it isn't, then what is the point is drysuit manufacturers making either MTM or ladies cut. I wouldn't say that i am exactly small in that department, but all my wetsuits and drysuits fit, and are shaped to accomodate Scubees Boobies (the real ones, not the ones on the pic that some killjoy moaned about).

i find ladies cut wetsuits, swimsuits, drysuits and BCD's a lot more comfortable than making do with one that is not specifically designed for women.

T*ts weren't designed to squish into small places, and if they are, there is the possibility of an increased risk of DCI. Didn't one of our pot tech post about women and chest bends a couple of days ago?

I love that word... "BUST"! It sounds like something from the bra department in Grace Brothers.

Sorry, back to the thread!
