I don't think you'll go far wrong at all with either package. The regs are a given, reliable well known and good quality.

You may as well go for the console, you could get a single gauge and compass on your wrist or pocket, this is how I dive as do many others.

You're on the right track on the suit, Seaskin seem to be going from strength to strength.

On the BCD, I think I would go for a Buddy instead of the Cressi, but for £100 more and minus the computer, that's quite an increase. Might be worth a call to see what other BCDs they could offer, something like a Mares or alternative might be more affordable and more than capable of doing the job.

Alternatively on the BCD front I have a couple of jackets in the cupboard that need selling, both are IST Saturn BCDs, ideal for UK diving. My girlfriend has just moved to a wing so doesn't need hers any more, and I have mine in there that isn't doing a lot. £150 each.

As a final note I would say you are buying a lot of dive gear, and it's worth getting as much advice and information as you can so that you can be sure you're spending your money wisely. Don't know where you're based, but there's a lot of people have had problems with Go Dive customer service if they have any problems. There's lots of other retailers who will probably match the price, depends on where you're based but having a local shop that can match it and who can help you out if you have any problems is worth its weight in gold for new equipment purchases.

Digs.

Are you planning on diving on holiday? Because buddy commandos weigh a ton. They're not a great choice for a holiday BCD.

Just a thought, but:

I dive a wing and backplate with long hose. I started teaching last year, and needed to get a BCD and set of regs on a budget. They needed to be tough and they needed to be cold water rated. I managed to get a mid range set of Scubapro regs, gauges etc. and an Aqualung Wave for under £150. These were all in as new condition.

The key was *not* using eBay as things there often go for just a few quid less than the new price (and a few things I have have seen went for more than they could be bought new elsewhere ). Try searching the small adds, both here at YD and BSAC as that is where the real bargains are.
