I use Faber 12's, never noticed any problem with trim with them. I've got a Dive Rite classic wing on it, nice and simple design. Everyone else has copied it and "improved" it but it still really is a very nice wing. And for the money about the best you can get.

I use a Dive Rite ally backplate as it is easier to vary weight with it. When I use my 7/300's then I'd be too heavy with a steel plate and can't see the point in buying two backplates. With a v-weight and light cannister then I'm weighted perfectly for the sea with my 12's, no v-weight for the 7's. Good for travelling with as well.

    Cheers,

    Stuart

I've recently moved to the world of twins albeit 300bar 7s and my rig is as follows:

    Halcyon SS BP & OPH.
    OMS 45 wing.
    300bar Faber 7s with MDE manifold/valves.

It's taken me a fair bit of chopping about to get to where I want to be and now I'm very happy with my set up - what I would say is get what you want/need not what others tell you that you need. However do listen to those who know and offer good advice.

i use an oms wing and harness on my twin faber12's for weighting i put v weights in betwwen the cylinders and have two weight pouches on the harness
i was bored at work so i made a copy of the alloy backplate in s/s
and also a copy of the quick release system that sbs make a saving of £180
i use a long hose off the right post as primary reg and the one i would donate, the left hand reg is short (or normal) and is necklaced to me also right post for suit inflation and left for my wing inflation with a small spg off each reg one on my right one on my left

but there are many set ups and wing twin configs systems and many opinions
ive been using this set up for 4 years, except for the quick release system mechanism wich i put on 4months ago

    good luck
its the voices that keep me sane

    im not strange!!, im special!

The best advice was try before you buy. I own and have used bungied and unbungied wings. I prefere bungied wings but I do think my 94ibs OMS wing is too big for the sort of diving I do, If I was to buy another wing it would be the OMS 60ibs wing.
Both my backplates are SS one is an OMS copy and has slots for cam bands if I ever need to run indies or borrow an unbanded set. They both have home made non adustable harrness with a break on the left side.

I have done over 500 dives on different twin set and my ideas have changed on what is ideal as my experience grew.

    TRY BEFORE YOU BUY

I use an OMS Alloy BP with Comfort Harness and a OMS Wing, with Twin 12l Fabers I use 3kg V Weight and 2kg in pockets each side. Works fine for me and I like the comfort harness better than the single piece that I used to use.

I dive twin 12 indies with a Zeagle wing.

Why? Because rather than just slap on big cylinders, I've actually worked
out what gas I need for my dives and if the poo hits I dont absolutely need
to save any. So no need for endless shutdown drills, I just go diving
    instead

LOL. Do you think there is a sort of indies batlight that signals MarkP when you post bait like that, Terry?

Woz 5mm backplate, OMS 45lb wing, Woz harness with QR in left armpit, twin Faber 7 or Faber 12. Works fine. Trims out better with a weightbelt than V weights. Might try some Euros and see if they're better one day. Eventually. If I don't have anything better to do with my life.

Lol, well we havnt had a indies vs manifold debate for agggggessssss.

Twas just pointing out that we dont all do the same sort of diving, so
buying exactly the same kit isnt always the best way to go.
