You could email your wish list to the "online stores" and ask for a quote. It may be even better to phone up for a quote as, in my experience, they have asked what other quotes I have had and can tell you very quickly if they can beat it or not.

Alternatively, a different point of view is that the dearer price you pay from your LDS is worth it due to the customer service and having someone to go and see if you have a problem.

Write out your wish list and mail in to kent diving and go-dive. Only be specific about the things that are important, e.g. do you want an SMB, a self Sealing SMB, a buddy SMB, a buddy selfsealing smb or a crack bottle smb etc (that difference alone could account for £65).

Is this through an LDS?

try your LDS

I bought a load of stuff at my LDS recently - they didn't come as low as the on-line shops best prices but I got some comfort out of the fact that they know me and know that if anything goes wrong I can be at their door in 10 minutes from home!

By going in with a full list of kit (I got Drysuit, undersuit, pony & regs, pony clamp and assorted bits) I negotiated an all-in price. I also got some free kit hire (pony cylinder and regs) and nitrox fills whilst the stuff I had ordered was coming in.

Yes this is from a local dive store. I am based in the south East and if anyone knows of a good LDS I would be interested if they can beat the price. It is a DSMB I am buying, manual inflation but the type that does not let the air our (closed)

Thanks

Bond,
Would that local LDS be Amphibian in South Norwood? If not, it might be worth giving them a try as they normally work out as cheap as the on-line palces and James ALWAYS has an opinion on the equipment he sells.

Other than that, try the calling around option for a better quote and ask the LDS how close they can come to get your business.

Regards

Mark

Kent Diving is local if you want a point of contact. If not sorce what you need and phone Divers Wharehouse. Most people agree thety are one of the best supliers of dive equipment going. They have looked after me very well in the past.

Couldn't agree more - LOADS of kit, almost always everything in stock, really good prices, and if you go in there regularly you only have to ask "Can you do any better then that?" and they'll usually knock another little chunk off for you...

Question?

Do you reeely reeeeeely want the S600 S-pro reg?

There are a lot cheeper arguably better optons. Have a look at Apex TX50 main TX40 Octo. If the reg is too big look at ATX50/ATX40.. you could save a fair bit of cash for a just as good reg.
