| DIR has had some controversy in previous years, mainly due to the amount of ‘flaming’ on any number of internet forums. YD has a forum specifically created to discuss this diving system. At YD we apply a typically 'British' approach to the DIR forum: that being a combination of simple honesty and manners. Honesty in the acknowledgement that there are many forms/systems of diving and none of them are perfect, and manners in the fact that we discuss DIR as divers who previously dived in other ways, having been taught by other agencies, but now simply wish to discuss diving in the friendly and constructive manner as we always have, but focussing on the DIR system. We do not allow use of the term ‘stroke’ in this forum; any usage will be deleted or edited without notice and without explanation. The reasons for this are obvious, in that it simply creates arguments and prevents any constructive debate. Any diving related question you have about DIR can be asked in the forum, and will be discussed and debated in an open, friendly and civilised manner. There is no need for the personal message traffic which occurs in other forums as you can feel free to ask a question without being ‘flamed’. Any complaints about members or posts can be reported via the ‘report post’ button to the upper right of the post, or via PM to And, the DIR Forum Moderator. These complaints will be dealt with swiftly in order to protect the friendly atmosphere at YD and its forums. |
