Arrow YD Forum Updates & Changes - ALL PLEASE READ!

Hi Folks,

You'll notice that the boards and forums have changed, been expanded and things might not now be in the place you last saw them....

Well, as the Forum's membership grows (we've recently seen a massive jump from 2,000 to 2,300+ members), we need to keep in-step with members' requirements and expectations - and make the boards more focussed, easier to navigate and less cluttered.

In order that we can achieve this, we are beginning to 'sub-forum' (or partition) the boards.

The first of these is the DIR Forum - which now has 5 new sub-fora.

Please can we ask that you leave these FREE of postings for the next day or so, to allow Andy Carroll (And) time to copy across any posts from the DIR General forum into the various sub-fora? Thanks in advance for that.

The next one I'm sorting out is the Equipment Forum.

As you can appreciate, there are a number of Frequently Asked Questions about the same things - Wings, Twins, Masks, Fins, Drysuits etc.

Shortly, these will have their own sub forum each so that the Equipment Forum can be less cluttered and folks can find what they're after quicker! Happy Days

You'll be seeing various other minor 'tweeks' in the following few weeks and we welcome your suggestions - VIA PM! - as to any area of diving which you think is not being covered on YD!

Cheers,
Bren.

Nice one Bren! Was actually thinking about this the other day, would be good to have FAQs somewhere easy to find, and keeps the board tidier.

Have some green!

You are now OK to post there. I've been through three pages or so and will continue later, as its a bit mind numbing

The new subforums should mean it is easier to find subjects you are interested in and reduce the number of duplicated questions which is a good thing, we think. I think it will also open the way for new and interesting topics as it is possible to advance the discussions based on the info already in the forums.

We also have a dedicated forum for GUE courses which I have asked Andy Kerslake and Rich Walker to keep updated with available spaces and dates for courses so it should be easier to get together with fellow DIR divers for courses etc

Lastly we have a forum dedicated to organising DIR trips and posting trip reports, which I look forward to reading.

So thanks Bren, these are good improvements.
