| Just had a look through the members services section and there's a lot that doesn't really strike me as being advertising - Padowan's post about Kent Diving doing Trimix being a case in point - AFAIK he's nothing to do with Kent Diving - just pointint out they do He - which is handy if you're He-inclined. Similarly I don't think Paul Evan's is anything to do with Kent Diving, and Pierre's website doesn't strike me as commercial. IMHO blatant commerical stuff or posts by the owners of the businesses rightly belong in this section, but people posting "did you know about XXX" or "great service at XXX" or "I had a rgeat holiday with XXX" shouldn't be in Members Services. Sorry mate, it doesn't work like that. If everyone just posted what they wanted, where they wanted, the place would be chaos - and we don't do chaos. It's the Mods & Admins who moderate the site - a situation with which you might not always agree, but them's the breaks. If a Mod or Admin thinks that your thread/post is either wrongly, inappropriately or ill-placed by you, or as with the recent announcements about Ade Kellend's wedding where a number of threads on the same subject were opened and then merged (by me), or that a thread has been started where another one on the same subject exists and it looks as though perhaps the poster just can't be arsed to seek out the recent one on same and add to it instead of blithely opening a new one, then your posts will get moved, merged etc. It helps keep the boards consistent and reduces the chaos aspects when members try to look for posts, themes, articles, threads etc. And if you had searched this Admin Forum in any way (or even given it a cursory glance), you'd have found that there's already a Sticky thead about this very subject - that's why we have Sticky threads! So, with no small irony, this thread is being merged with that one.

| I wanted the threads on Adrian kept seperately. One pre + One post wedding. I do not think it would have caused chaos to have two threads on the wedding. Paul

| OK, but If I post as two seperate threads I would have expected them to be kept seperate. If as the lead on the thread I had chosen to carry on the original I would have. Paul

Sorry, we're not gonna have a debate on this - it's a non-issue. Whether it was prior or post Ade getting hitched, your posts were/are his wedding-centric (that being the binding theme of both threads). End of.

| Sorry, it seems that a poster has no say in whether their posts are moved merged whatever... A p.m. may be nice... Bye Paul

That said, ultimately, as has always been the consistent line on this matter, it is up to the Mods and Admins of this board to decide whether or where a given thread/post ends-up or gets merged etc. for very good reasons, as have been explained, repeatedly. You can help the Mods in that role by ensuring that your posts and threads are not duplicates, threads opened on a current topic already being posted on and are posted in the right forum. With which part of that message are you struggling? Quote:

| I considered them two seperate subjects. I posted as two seperate subjects. If I had wished to continue the thread I would have. Paul
