How to search for new posts in the Equipment Forum

Hi

If you wish to simply search for new posts in the Equipment forum (and its child forums) only then click this link;

http://www.yorkshire-divers.co.uk/fo...37,38,39,40,41

or search for posts in the Equipment forum for the last 10 days

http://www.yorkshire-divers.co.uk/fo...37,38,39,40,41

If you wish to search for new posts and exclude the nondiving posts (and its child forums) then click the hyperlink below

http://www.yorkshire-divers.co.uk/fo...new&exclude=22

I can, if people wish, tailor these to include and exclude any forums or I can simply show you how and you can store the hyperlinks somewhere in your favourites or something.

Hope that helps

Andy

The syntax of a search

The main text you need before the search function starts is;

Quote:
yorkshire-divers.co.uk/forums/search.php?
This is then followed by a couple of terms either do=getnew or do=getdaily

So then you get;

Quote:
yorkshire-divers.co.uk/forums/search.php?do=getdaily
With get daily you can search for the last x number of days simply by using &days=x (where x is the number of days) so

Quote:
yorkshire-divers.co.uk/forums/search.php?do=getdaily&days=20
You can then choose to exclude forums using &exclude= or include using simply &f=. The forums are all numbered and you can see the numbers by hovering your pointer over the forum heading and looking at the url at the bottom of the screen (on ie6)

So, as I know the rebreather forum is number 18 then I can choose to ONLY search that forum by using &f=18 or simply to exclude that forum by using &exclude=18.

Quote:
yorkshire-divers.co.uk/forums/search.php?do=getdaily&days=20&f=18
To exclude more than one forum use commas between the numbers so &exclude=18,19,20 etc

If you need more clarification then please let me know. I need to discuss this with Jay and Bren. We may be able to make this easier with a little bit of work but its a start.

Andy

Well done And. Now, will this stop the whiners or will they just move onto another subject?
