Where is it?

If it's on dive kit-leave it and look like a sea dog.

If it's on a vehicle-autosol

If it's anywhere else, scrub well with a soft kitchen scourer.

Staining on chrome

Hi John,

What's stained, have you been keeping it clean after using it?

You could always get it serviced and cleaned where it was done last time and complain that its showing tarnishing already, that way he might (or might not) give you a discount...

As suggested above it could be left to effect that well dived sea-dog look...

you know where I am if you need me...

Brian

Autosol

Will bring it up a treat. Depending on how bad it is you may need to do a little light sanding with 800 grade to get any actual corrosion off. I'd still go for the sea dog look though.

Is it just stained or has the chrome been corroded away and the underlieing brass gone furry?
Its going to be cosmetic probably, a good clean with detergent and then an ultrasonic clean with boix: like what a service technician might have would work wunders, then a good lube with salt water compatible grease and you should be back fishing in no time....

Have you considered leaving this forum and starting a YF (YorksireFishermen) forum?????

Brian
