How did YD originate?
Hi,

just curious, have strolled the FAQ section but cannot find an answer, how did Yorkshire Divers come about? Was it specifically setup for divers in Yorkshire and grown beyond it's original audience. Why did the founders set it up in the first place?

I believe so. AFAIK, the aim was to help find dive buddies in Yorkshire.

That's it!

I haven't been around too long (my prolific posts have made up for this though) but I believe it was sparked by Jay and a few others having a converstaion over a beer a few years ago. I seem to recall a 'Happy 4th Birthday' thread a while ago. I'll do a search and see if I can find it.

Edit: Here it is! Not sure if it gives a full history but someone more knowledgeable than me is bound to be along soon...
