| You don't get a signature for a while - it stops people joining and simply spamming the boards with useless links.

| I think you get a signiture after 50 posts or something, or that could be when you can give rep that counts??, I think if you gave rep now, it would appear on the persons list as a grey colour, not green or red, but after 50 posts, that will change, I think, but as you've been a member for so long, and are obviously not using the site to spam ect, then I'd hope that you could get a signature soon, Perhaps a pm to Jay enphisising how long you've been a member, may speed things along a bit, maybe even a bit of bribery, promising to put a link on your website to YD might also help !!!! ![]() So in short, get posting, you're never normally short of an opinion or 2 !!!!!!!!!!!

| Is it time to sack the "rep" nonsence? Just tried to green Steve S but I can't... must spread... etc. Now it must be Eons ago that I last greened Steve but because I don't throw rep around "willy nilly" I can't up his greenage! The whole system seems to discriminate against us tight northern bestids... what am I to do? throw rep around for shite just so I can give a deserved green or what? |

| Seems i may have opened up a can of worms so to speak, the rep is a good way of showing the forum who can assist or who is decent, maybe not that but you know what i mean, if it is run correctly and if it is abided by. For instance if for example you put 10 people in touch with YD and they all give you rep straight away then it seems the system isn't quite working as that way you could set up 10 accounts yourself different names and then give you main one loads of rep..... Unless i am missing something and that this is controlled by IP address?? |

Several people have gone off the end of the scale of green. If you're bored, then it can be interesting is to look at the members list sorted by rep. That changes quite regularly. But if you want more green then write a trip report. I always try and green trip reports. Janos
