Port Merion

Where am I?

In the Village

What do you want?

Information

Whose side are you on?

That would be telling . . .
We want Information

You won't get it

By hook or by crook . . .
We will

Who are you?

The new Number Two

Who is Number One?

You are Number Six

I am not a number . . .
I'm a free man!

LOL, Paul

Ok I know this thread has gone a bit cold but i was also wondering as a relatively new member here what all the blobs mean. I have had a few greens now which I worked out were Good but someone also gave me a red due to some personal comments I made in a thread that obviously they took exception to, Big deal I guess that's a bad one, but who sees these blobs and what do the really do for us. Also I seem to be racking up points but again not sure why.
If I'm missing the point here then I'll shut up and go to bed early with no tea.

Get up them stairs NOW

I guess its a way of letting the group show who they rate and who they don't. You can actually see the ratings (can't remember where though) and occasionally some unethical types go tarting for greens

Who would that be then

It has a great effect on self moderation. green is good, red is bad. therefore, we don't get into slanging matches which would bring the reds out in their millions. It is very rare that i red someone.

Arguments tend to end up being much more reasoned debates which means they are less destructive, although we do get some bad ones on occasion

if you look in your CP, it will tell you how many points you have. Red's deduct fromt aht, greens increase it depending on where someone is in the rep stakes.

You can find out where you are compared to others by clicking on 'members list' then click on the header 'reputation' and it will rank members by their number of rep points. (currently Steve S is enjoying a bit of glory closely followed by Janos and Mal)
