| A number of us on here use these guys. Direct Travel Insurance I woudl sugegst that you also do a search on here on "travel insurance" as there have been a number of threads down the ages on the pros and cons of travel insurance. The thing to bear in mind is peoples' experience when they have to claim and not the sales pitch beforehand. Thats why it is worth having a trawl through past threads. Simon

| Just insured with Direct Travel Insurance Single trip insurance in Europe was £12 - includes cover to 50m dependent on your qualification level Their dogs doodas version - worldwide, annual works out at £70, though there are cheaper versions if you remove some of the cover you think you won't need |

A week ago I had to cancel a trip to Lahami as my fiancee went down with a dose of dysentry. She was due to look after my nine year old son in my absence so on the Friday before my departure on the Wednesday following, I phoned Axa to advise that I may have to cancel due to third party illness. On Sunday, I went down with the galloping sh1ts too, probably contracted from my fiancee. My GP prescribed but I was unfit to travel by the Wednesday. My claim for cancelation was therefore due to personal illness, as evidenced by my GP and explained to Axa, and not third party illness as initially suggested. However, Axa seem to be insistent on the former circumstance, despite the reasonable change in circumstances and are trying to wriggle out of the claim. Right now I feel unable to recommend Axa. Pleased to receive comment or suggestion... |

I too was curious as to how good they are when it comes to a claim and it turns out my boss and her hubby are also insured with them and they have made a couple of claims (albeit over a long ish period). She has nothing but praise for them and she is not someone to put up with sub standard service or be messed about so her recommendation really put my mind at ease.

| Dive insurance Buddy Dive Insurance will insure you for what ever depth you are qualified for plus your dive gear at a good rate. |

| Worth noting that for the DT insurance... "diving must be under the direction of an accredited dive marshal, instructor or guide" so won't cover you for bog-standard normal buddy diving.
