It depends on how much the blob holds. I have one too, but never tried measuring it's capacity. But a 0.1L bottle @ 80 bar will have 7.9L of useable gas in it. BTW, I always fill mine from a full tank.

| I always fill mine from a near empty set usually about 50bar in a 12ltr twinset.. 0.1ltr bottle and its aways been ok. Are you sure you opened up both valves when filling....should be nice and warm when its done..

| Buoyancy of a Buddy DSMB is 20lb, so roughly 10kg, and so 10l capacity. Given 0.1l capacity of the bottle (unless you got the big one, but they're rare so i'm assuming not) you need 100bar in the bottle to fill the DSMB. David |

| yup 100 bar is best I find ....oh and dont have the cylinder above the valve when filling.. nothing to do with the smb ... it just stops sea water entering the donor cyls when equalised. Hazel

| I always filled mine from a full cylinder. How full it gets can depend on how much you crack the bottle. Fully opening it at the bottom fills it quickly so expands at a faster rate, getting a nice hard one

| I do find mine is flaccid if it doesn't get filled above 100 bar. ( isn't flaccid a lovely word? in the right context) By the way you are supposed to dismantle the purge valve and lubricate it with silicon grease occasionally instead of hitting it harder to make it purge. I wish someone had told me sooner. Mine broke. luckily Buddy sent me the bits to fix mine and so from now on I shall be kinder to it. Jules

| Lee I used mine over the weekend and always filled from a full tank, as most of the others on the thread have stated. filling from a half empty tank gives crap results, as you found out.
