Ah, I know that frustration well... when I lived in Calne, Wiltshire, I couldn't get broadband, and somehow, I managed to summon enough energy to write to my MP! The great thing was, this was local Tory Boy Michael Ancram and he went off and moaned at BT for me... I got a 30 page document from the Chairman of BT (some fellow called Sir Christopher Bland I think) outlining why Calne was not upgradable from an economic/technical perspective!

I still couldn't get broadband though!

Borrowed Half Life 2 over xmas and having completed it I tried out Counter Strike: Source, the online game. Its fabby, especially on my Athlon64 based PC. ANybody else play it? Could make up a YD clan!!!

BTW thought Half Life 2 was excellent, especially in high detail/res mode. Fabby!

Got a pass-out from the wife the other night to play Halo2, hadn't played it since Xmas and boy did it show :-)

Best bit was listening to an american kid during a team slayer game, my side losing, getting really upset and cursing the team because we were losing by 2 kills, in the end I lost my temper and reminded him it was just a £$%$! game.

Sadly I don't have a console so have to play on the PC. Allied Assault was OK but Far Cry was just awsome. Loved the underwater stuff especially. Just finished Splinter Cell. Got it for a fiver at Morrisons! Can't say no at those prices.

For a fiver!!! Wow! That's a great game too... mind you, I didn't ever finish it because I got stuck on the bit when you go down a lift and have to kill the baddies with shots to the face because they've all got loads of body armour on! I think it's in a library...

And then, some tea-leaf broke in and nicked my XBOX!!! Saved games all gone... *sniff*

I just can't bring myself to play it again - too many memories y'know?
