Pedant Alert ;)

Ah the Amiga... truly superb but definitely NOT a console!!! The fights/arguments I used to have at school between us (the Amiga kiddies) and the Console kiddies (Sega and all that crapola)...

I loved my Amiga... in fact, I think my brother and I went through about three in total, the last of which was the Amiga 1200... what a beaut!

Merry Christmas!

Calski

Commodore Amiga / Atari ST

Ahh the C-Amiga, remember with a tear in my eye watching some intro to a game that looked a lot like the ED209 machine out of Robocop, taken back by the graphics, then going home flogging the ST I just brought and going out to buy the Amiga.

Going O/T

Remember at school, kids swapping the old cassette tapes of Spectrum games, trouble was I was the only kid with a bl00dy Dragon32.....I'm sure my parents hate me :-)

A Dragon 32?? What did you do to deseve that?
I subjected my parents to multiple emotional crises, thoroughly unsuitable girlfriends (I wasn't complaining), suspension from v.expensive school for 'activities not in keeping with the standards expected of our pupils (What? What did I do?)' and much worse nonsense. I got a Beeb.

You must've been caught fellating the family spaniel or something.... Jesus.... a DRAGON. True story - mate of mine's parents got him a Dragon 64 on account of them being dead pro Welsh Industry, what with them having an idiot surname like Evans.

Boy, was he pissed off

Had a DOS version of elite, which had no clock timing, so when run on a P4 2Ghz it was unplayable as it was designed on a 16Mhz CPU!!

Got even worse, they brought me a Commodore 16 - not a 64, a chuffing 16 later on in life.

a commodore 16? hah, commodore, at one stage, tried to launch a cross between the c16 and c64, the plus 4, a 64k machine that was supposed to surpass the c64, but only ran c16 software.

i was landed with one....... dragon 32s left them in the shade...
