The sort of posts that belong in here are Garf's Markgraf incident, Janos' inadvertant pentration of a wreck, or something as simple as my dive last year where I dropped a 10kg bag of scallops and made a rapid ascent from 10m because I was now incredibly bouyant.

The idea is that people can post here their mistakes, mishaps, things they have witnessed personally (not 3rd hand) without fear of ridicule. People need to post honestly and those who comment must not put the original poster down. By all means provide positive criticism about how you would have done things differently, and importantly. If people don't want to face the music themselves, you can send a PM to me with the details and I will anonomise the post before putting it onto the forum.

This forum can only work with your input so please give it a go, especially in the quiet dive period (for many) and maybe people can learn from your mistakes.
Gareth,

What a top idea..

Cheers
Neil

Thank you for starting this forum.

I've learnt loads over the years by reading about other people's incidents and thinking about what I would have done/would do if it ever happened to me.

Let's hope we can all learn and not judge

Thumbs up Great idea

Like others have said there's a lot can be learned from others mistakes, especially by someone as inexperienced as myself!

Excellent idea and thanks for setting it up and explaining the objective underlining no personal criticism etc.

Splendid idea

No sleep for me tonight after being called out twiceSo i've spent a bit of time reading through the posts on here and already feel i've learnt quite a bit from other peoples incidents, being new to the sport i've found some terrifying enough to make me consider what i'm getting into. However hopefully these postings will give me the knowledge to avoid doing something similar where possible and it's got to be safer than motorbikes (anyone who's seen me ride says base jumping would be safer ) Thanks again YD for setting this up and a big thank you to those swallowing their pride and having the balls to post about things that no doubt still play on their minds occasionally.

I think its a top idea, I had a incident in late 2005 that I posted and I have taken a bit of stick but that was only from jerks.

The thanks that I have received was overwhelming and I know that my posting did help others.

I don't know if the thread can be moved to this forum, or even if you want it moved. I'll send a PM.

Son, you're going to have to make up your mind about growing up and becoming aircrew. You can't do both.

The aircraft limits are only there in case there is another flight by that particular aircraft. If subsequent flights do not appear likely, there are no limits.

I think this section is fabulous for some one new to diving like myself. I shall spend some hours going through all this.

thanks

This is a good idea!

I've got a good one for you if I can get around to writing it up.

Best regards,

Mark.
