My (2nd) pot dive

Diving off Rathlin island a couple of years ago and I was underweighted at the surface (using an old undersuit designed for membrane suits). So first mistake was carrying on and kicking down to 5 metres to get neutral. Did the wall dive (200m+ to the floor) and hit about 55m for a nice drift. Came to send up my SMB, overfilled it and as it rocketed up the spare line got caught on my D-ring sending me from 55m to about 10m in as many seconds before I got the line cut. Spent as much time as I had air at 10m before a gradual ascent to the surface. Still got a much deserved bend at the end of it.

Lessons?

1. Proper weighting
2. Proper equipment (undersuit)
3. Proper deployment of SMB with your buddy before firing it up.

Did I deserve a bend - well, yes - I f**ked up. No arguments and I learned that lesson the hard way.
