Moldavia- 9th Feb- Cancelled - Blessing in disguise?
l've just stripped my inspo after yesterdays Moldavia dive was cancelled, only to find that the O ring sealing the head to the scrubber canister was popping out of the side of the thick ring that sits on top of it, this would have lead to a CO2 breakthrough on a 52 mtr dive.

l'd assembled the inspo thursday night, calibrated it and got a low battery warning, so l replaced the battery whilst leaving the head connected to the hoses. This made it a bit awkward to assemble the head to the scrubber canister. l now realise that l should have taken the hole lot off instead of trying to take a short cut.
Wot a kn*b.

l don't feel as bad about the dive being cancelled now.

Glad you're ok mate - hopefully you would have picked it up on the pre-breathe.

As you say, you're a knob for taking the short-cut, but kudos for posting about it. I've taken short-cuts on OC, but so far have resisted the temptation to do so on CC. This thread is a salutory reminder.

Dont think the pre breath would have picked it up. Andyp did his entire pool sesion of mod one with this fault.

Son, you're going to have to make up your mind about growing up and becoming aircrew. You can't do both.

The aircraft limits are only there in case there is another flight by that particular aircraft. If subsequent flights do not appear likely, there are no limits.
