Post-splash, pre-dive checks

Always check your weight system after hitting the water - and avoid that floaty feeling when coming back up

Luckily for me, I was overweighted by 1 or 2 kg, so losing a weight pocket with 3kg in it wasn't a disaster. It made the 6m stop a little awkward I must say. Could have been very different.

Something I learned from yesterdays diving.

Don't connect the bolt snap on your lovely kent tooling reel handle to the smb and then inflate the blob. Connect the line end to the blob that way you don't have to let go of much shinyness and watch it disappear into the black and you don't look a total twat on the surface as you wind in 50m of line.

makes interesting viewing though. as i heard someone near me say, number of descents = no. of ascents. so a good day was had by all.

oh did i say meg 1 sub 0?

the skipper was giving the tanker driver a bit of abuse on the vhf too.

my turn next.

i'm sure it will happen.. i just feel lucky because it hasn't yet! get me a few beers ijn and i'll tell you about the day i racked up 40 min deco, thinking there must be something wrong here. 5 min to go and i realised that the little sign on the vr said air open circuit, not air dil. whoops.

still could have been the other way round i suppose.
