| Although the general rule of thumb is not to dive for between 24-48 hours after giving blood. It actually takes about a week for the body to regenrate the pint that you've given. Please give blood, it is something that a lot more of us ought to do, if you can, but do it when you haven't got any diving planned for at least 4-5 days to give your body a chance to refill itself. All the best. ![]() |

Then they whinge that they haven't got enough blood donors. Very frustrating indeed. I know there are lots of people at risk from pooled blood products, produced from the whole blood that doesn't get transfused but if I were lying on the table needing a life saving op when they are short of blood (say summer hols) and they said you can either die or you can risk having some blood donated by some bloke called Richard Mason, who once ate a Tescos cardboard-special beefburger with baked beans & chips whilst watching Pans' People on TOTP about 25 years ago, I think I'd risk it. OK rant over. Normal service is now resumed. |

| I gave blood last Thursday (no 60) and they advised me not to dive for 24 hours, or to fly a light aeroplane or glider, or to lift heavy weights. So that was all my hobbies kicked into touch along with my sex-life
