I had a similar incident. I'd found a "bubble" under my skin at my elbow and through worry (and reading up on the bends on-line) I got a headache and felt more and more tired. This was really just down to stress and paranoia. I eventually gave in and took a trip to the local A&E with my dive computer and my PADI book. Doctors I spoke to hadn't a clue about it and I was showing them the section of the book but when another doctor arrived and told me that it wasn't DCS and was infact a little fatty deposit I began feeling better. It's strange how your mind can play tricks like that, moulding your symptoms to your worries. In future though I'll be giving a dive doc a call (though lets hope there isn't a re-occurrence).

Glad it all worked out OK Jim, I think the subconscious stress can play a big part in the way we feel when something like this happens.
You did the right thing making the phone call.
