Red face Gas Blob error

I hope this is the right forum for this as it wasn't a life and death thing and didn't result in major trauma or anything but it was a lesson learned for me!

Down in Plymouth over the weekend having dived the Scylla we were back on the boat getting ready for the second dive. My buddy decided he wasn't doing the second dive and was just putting his kit away when I decided it was a good idea to recharge my gas blob bottle off his DIN cylinder rather than remove the "plug" from mine (I'd ascended off the Scylla on the blob 'cos the shot was like a motorway!)

So there we were diving the Breakwater Fort, the end of the dive was in sight and I was the nominated Blobber. I unfurled the blob, released the reel and opened the bottle. I've passed more wind after a good curry than came out of the bottle. The blob went up and marked our ascent but when we got up it was as flaccid as a flaccid thing!

It took me a while to realise that i'd filled it off an almost empty cylinder and not a full one

Lesson well learned!!!!!!

I never had you down as a flaccid blobber Paul, and filling mine off 110 bar for the second dives, I did have concerns about if it would be enough? (I've only had mine for a week and a half now and it has not seen fresh water apart from my bathtub!)

Thankfully, you can inflate them the old fashioned way

Tsk tsk, remember HSAC has a reputation of greatness to uphold, we don't admit to faux pas in public

It's an easy mistake to make, I won't fill mine from a bottle with anything less than 150 bar, also I only fill it a maximum of 24 hours before I'm going to use it.

Safe diving,
Steve

Would someone with a little spare time fancy working out what the minimum bar pressure would be to inflate a blob at say 10 meters?
