When place you wouldn't expect a dive bruise!

I had a fantastic dive on a local 35m wreck. Going down the line viz was atrocious until 20m then it was fantastic with a good 10-15m. A great dive on this fishing wreck, felt great.
Finished the dive and the boat was a new RIB with stainless steel steps on the side. The steps have round ruts moving out from a central vertical bar and were bloody slippery. Just as I climbing over the slide I slipped landed spread eagle (legs apart) on the central bar and then back in the water. All I can say is that very lucky didn't catch my nuts but my willy got the full force of my weight and full dive kit intead Sore as hell I made it back up with much more caution. Only later in the day did I notice I have a big black bruise on this tender member.
I know diving is dangerous but never expected to wear a box for safety sake!
As anyone else had 'embarring' dive related bruises/illnesess?

You need to change your tag line to "bruised member"

I've had embarrasing bruised pride on more than one dive

Did you tell her that wrapping some beef steak round the bruise helps to make it better?

The only time I've had to give the emergency 'Come and get me signal' to a boat was scallop diving in New Zealand. This was in the old ABLJ days and I was using a Fenzy. Having collected a large bag of Scallops, I inflated my Fenzy to provide much needed buoyancy on the surface - only the crotch strap was too tight and I couldn't move without causing excruciating pain. The only option to calling the boat would have been to drop the scallops!

Even so, I was sore for a couple of days after that.

Ah yes the old Fenzy days i remember them well !, including the jock strap!.

If you didn't get it right the term separation anxiety really took on a new significance.
