I've seen a design with 3 bits of rod with clips on that you form a triangle out of then lob that over so you don't look quite so much of a twat walking round with a hula hoop.
Oooooo just had a thought- what about using those folding poles like what you get in tents- 3 of them together with bungee down the middle, a ring on one end and a boltsnap on the other. Unfold, clip and throw. It would even stow neatly down the snoopy loops on a drop tank cylinder.
I'm wasted on the internet. I should be an engineer. Oh- wait- I am.

A rather brilliant place to dive
Yep, 2 x 2nd stages and suit inflate on it.
Is also going to be doubling up as an "almost" O2 kit (80%) using a rescuean just incase needed when away from a full O2 kit.
Is a 12L because I had a spare one laying around doing nowt.![]()

Right......
This is how it looks.....
The idea is that the skipper can slip the hulahoop over the blob, which is attached to the green rope (9m and a bit), which is attached to the bottle. I used steel for two reasons. First, it is smaller than ali, and seconly, I think the negative buoyancy of the bottle would be easier to deal with than ali.
The green rope is also attached to the buoy, which I *know* (because we tested it) will support the weight of a full 7lsteel.
The buoy is also attached to the hulahoop.
I used bits from my spares box to make a sort of stage kit.
The pic shows it with one of my stage regs on it, I haven't decided whether it will have two second stages or one, I wasn't going to put a suit inflate on it, because of the difficulties it *could* cause someone who has the *other* type of suit inflation connector.

How far down the line is the hoop? I was imagining it to be about halfway down, but it looks much closer to the buoy than that. If it were too close to the bouy I could foresee the SMB slipping out from under the hoop - is that something that is designed for?
